1 Corinthians 12:4-6

As born again, a student of Spirit, and devoted totally to the WORD of GOD, I was led by the HOLY SPIRIT to create all these burgeoning blogs.

The FIRST and GREAT commandment

 

James 3:17

King James Version

17 But the wisdom that is from above 

is first pure, 

then peaceable, 

gentle, 

and easy to be intreated, 

full of mercy and good fruits, 

without partiality, 

and without hypocrisy.


As always Jesus presents the WORD of GOD in the simplest way possible.

Listen to what the Lord taught us.

Someone asked:

Mark 12:28

King James Version

28 And one of the scribes came, 

and having heard them reasoning together, 

and perceiving that he had answered them well, 

asked him, 

Which is the first commandment of all?


And Jesus answered:

Mark 12:29-30

King James Version

29 And Jesus answered him, 

The first of all the commandments is, 

Hear, 

O Israel; 

The Lord our God is one Lord:

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God 

with all thy heart, 

and with all thy soul, 

and with all thy mind, 

and with all thy strength: 

this is the first commandment.


No wonder, God hates idolatry so much.

And other forms idolatry is an abomination to God, too.

And yet, the world continues to disrespect God, and challenge His authority.

Is it really so difficult to follow the law Jesus spoke of?

Is God so unlovable, people have a hard time worshiping Him alone?

Is the world's offer of prestige, power, and popularity more attractive than having eternal life with Jesus?

As a student of Spirit, and born again, I can assure you, when you seek God with all your heart, aiming to know only His Truth, He will send you His Holy Spirit, to teach you EVERYTHING about Jesus.

Things of the world will fall away.

Your only desire will be to serve God, know His Truth, and worship Him.

Your faithfulness is in God alone.

You will experience the GREATEST journey, ever!


And the second commandment?

It's simple, too!

Listen to what Jesus spoke of:

Mark 12:31

King James Version

31 And the second is like, 

namely this, 

Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 

There is none other commandment greater than these.


These two commandments must be our FOUNDATION for everything.

I learned that from Jesus:

Matthew 22:40

40 On these two commandments 

hang all the law 

and the prophets.


We must really meditate upon the beauty, and enormity, of these two simple commandments.

PARABLES on the KINGDOM of HEAVEN

 

Matthew 13:10-11

King James Version

10 And the disciples came, 

and said unto him, 

Why speakest thou unto them 

in parables?

11 He answered and said unto them, 

Because it is given unto you 

to know the mysteries 

of the kingdom of heaven, 

but to them it is not given.


Parables are simple stories intended to give a moral, or spiritual lesson.

Jesus loved telling parables, to prove a point.

He also had lots of parables on the kingdom of God -- His KINGDOM.

Who better to tell us, than the Lord Himself?

The Lord Jesus compared the kingdom of Heaven to the following:

1. Like unto a man, who sowed good seed.

Matthew 13:24-30

King James Version

24 Another parable put he forth unto them, 

saying, 

The kingdom of heaven 

is likened unto a man 

which sowed good seed in his field:

25 But while men slept, 

his enemy came 

and sowed tares among the wheat, 

and went his way.

26 But when the blade was sprung up, 

and brought forth fruit, 

then appeared the tares also.

27 So the servants of the householder came 

and said unto him, 

Sir, 

didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? 

from whence then hath it tares?

28 He said unto them, 

An enemy hath done this. 

The servants said unto him, 

Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

29 But he said, Nay; 

lest while ye gather up the tares, 

ye root up also the wheat with them.

30 Let both grow together until the harvest

and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, 

Gather ye together first the tares, 

and bind them in bundles to burn them: 

but gather the wheat into my barn.


2. Like a grain of mustard seed, which a man sowed in his field.

Matthew 13:31-32

31 Another parable put he forth unto them, 

saying, 

The kingdom of heaven 

is like to a grain of mustard seed, 

which a man took, 

and sowed in his field:

32 Which indeed is the least of all seeds: 

but when it is grown, 

it is the greatest among herbs

and becometh a tree

so that the birds of the air 

come and lodge in the branches thereof.


3. Like unto leaven, which a woman hid in three measures of meal.

Matthew 13:33

33 Another parable spake he unto them; 

The kingdom of heaven 

is like unto leaven

which a woman took, 

and hid in three measures of meal, 

till the whole was leavened.


4. Like unto treasure, hid in a field.

Matthew 13:44

King James Version

44 Again, 

the kingdom of heaven 

is like unto treasure 

hid in a field

the which when a man hath found, 

he hideth, 

and for joy thereof 

goeth and selleth all that he hath, 

and buyeth that field.


5. Like unto a merchant, seeking goodly pearls.

Matthew 13:45-46

King James Version

45 Again, 

the kingdom of heaven 

is like unto a merchant man, 

seeking goodly pearls:

46 Who, 

when he had found one pearl of great price, 

went and sold all that he had, 

and bought it.


6. Like unto a net, cast into the sea.

Matthew 13:47-48

King James Version

47 Again, 

the kingdom of heaven 

is like unto a net, 

that was cast into the sea

and gathered of every kind:

48 Which, when it was full, 

they drew to shore, 

and sat down, 

and gathered the good into vessels, 

but cast the bad away.


7. Like unto a certain king, who took account of his servants.

Matthew 18:23-35

King James Version

23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven 

likened unto a certain king, 

which would take account of his servants.

24 And when he had begun to reckon, 

one was brought unto him, 

which owed him ten thousand talents.

25 But forasmuch as he had not to pay, 

his lord commanded him to be sold, 

and his wife, 

and children, 

and all that he had, 

and payment to be made.

26 The servant therefore fell down, 

and worshipped him, saying, 

Lord, have patience with me, 

and I will pay thee all.

27 Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, 

and loosed him, 

and forgave him the debt.

28 But the same servant went out, 

and found one of his fellowservants, 

which owed him an hundred pence: 

and he laid hands on him, 

and took him by the throat, saying, 

Pay me that thou owest.

29 And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, 

and besought him, saying, 

Have patience with me, 

and I will pay thee all.

30 And he would not: 

but went and cast him into prison, 

till he should pay the debt.

and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

32 Then his lord, 

after that he had called him,

 said unto him, 

O thou wicked servant, 

I forgave thee all that debt, 

because thou desiredst me:

33 Shouldest not thou also have had compassion 

on thy fellowservant, 

even as I had pity on thee?

34 And his lord was wroth, 

and delivered him to the tormentors, 

till he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, 

if ye from your hearts forgive not 

every one his brother their trespasses.


8. Like unto 10 virgins, who took their lamps.

Matthew 25:1-13

25 Then shall the kingdom of heaven 

be likened unto ten virgins, 

which took their lamps, 

and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, 

and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps,

and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, 

they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, 

Behold, 

the bridegroom cometh; 

go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, 

and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, 

Give us of your oil; 

for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, 

saying, 

Not so; 

lest there be not enough for us and you: 

but go ye rather to them that sell, 

and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, 

the bridegroom came; 

and they that were ready 

went in with him to the marriage: 

and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, 

saying, 

Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, 

Verily I say unto you, 

I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, 

for ye know neither the day 

nor the hour 

wherein the Son of man cometh.


9. Like a man traveling into a far country, calling his servants.

Matthew 25:14-30

14 For the kingdom of heaven 

is as a man travelling into a far country, 

who called his own servants

and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, 

to another two, 

and to another one; 

to every man according to his several ability; 

and straightway took his journey.

16 Then he that had received the five talents 

went and traded with the same, 

and made them other five talents.

17 And likewise he that had received two, 

he also gained other two.

18 But he that had received one 

went and digged in the earth, 

and hid his lord's money.

19 After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, 

and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came 

and brought other five talents, 

saying, 

Lord, 

thou deliveredst unto me five talents: 

behold, 

I have gained beside them five talents more.

21 His lord said unto him, 

Well done, 

thou good and faithful servant: 

thou hast been faithful over a few things, 

I will make thee ruler over many things: 

enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and said, 

Lord, 

thou deliveredst unto me two talents: 

behold, 

I have gained two other talents beside them.

23 His lord said unto him, 

Well done, 

good and faithful servant; 

thou hast been faithful over a few things, 

I will make thee ruler over many things: 

enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

24 Then he which had received the one talent came and said, 

Lord, 

I knew thee that thou art an hard man, 

reaping where thou hast not sown, 

and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

25 And I was afraid, 

and went and hid thy talent in the earth: 

lo, there thou hast that is thine.

26 His lord answered and said unto him, 

Thou wicked and slothful servant, 

thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, 

and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money 

to the exchangers, 

and then at my coming 

I should have received mine own with usury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, 

and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, 

and he shall have abundance: 

but from him that hath not 

shall be taken away even that which he hath.

30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant 

into outer darkness

there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.


JESUS also likened scribes instructed about the kingdom of heaven, as "householders", bringing out their treasures.

Matthew 13:52

King James Version

52 Then said he unto them, 

Therefore every scribe 

which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven 

is like unto a man that is an householder

which bringeth forth out of his treasure 

things new and old.


Don't you love the way the LORD teaches?

It's always with heart, and precision.

In His mercy, He also prayed the Father give us the Holy Spirit to teach us "all things".

Jesus did promise:

John 14:18

King James Version

18 I will not leave you comfortless: 

I will come to you.

Who Can ENTER the KINGDOM of HEAVEN?

 

Luke 12:32

King James Version

32 Fear not, 

little flock; 

for it is your Father's good pleasure 

to give you the kingdom.


From the previous post, we learned that the kingdom of God was righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (the HOLY SPIRIT).

We also learned the "old" heaven was a firmament, but will be a "new" heaven when God's holy city, the new Jerusalem, comes down from heaven, and God will dwell in our midst.

There will be no more sea, no more curse.

Scripture also testified to the ministry, and healing done by Jesus, as the kingdom come UNTO us, and UPON us, even as many were not aware.

The Lord Jesus also said the kingdom of God was WITHIN us.

We learned, too, that Jesus was going to be our source of strength, and foundation -- our ROCK.

But the next question is, who gets to enter heaven?

As always, the Holy Spirit of God led me to the verses.

We can enter heaven if:

1. We're born again.

John 3:3

King James Version

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, 

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, 

Except a man be born again, 

he cannot see the kingdom of God.


2. We're born of water and of the Spirit.

John 3:5

King James Version

5 Jesus answered, 

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, 

Except a man be born of water 

and of the Spirit, 

he cannot enter 

into the kingdom of God.


3. Our righteousness exceeds those of the scribes and Pharisees.

Matthew 5:20

King James Version

20 For I say unto you, 

That except your righteousness 

shall exceed the righteousness 

of the scribes and Pharisees, 

ye shall in no case enter 

into the kingdom of heaven.


4. We move forward with Jesus.

Luke 9:61-62

King James Version

61 And another also said, 

Lord, I will follow thee; 

but let me first go bid them farewell, 

which are at home at my house.

62 And Jesus said unto him, 

No man, 

having put his hand to the plough, 

and looking back, 

is fit for the kingdom of God.


5. We find joy in following the Holy Spirit of God.

Romans 14:17

King James Version

17 For the kingdom of God 

is not meat and drink; 

but righteousness, 

and peace, 

and joy 

in the Holy Ghost.


6. We become of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:50

King James Version

50 Now this I say, brethren, 

that flesh and blood 

cannot inherit the kingdom of God; 

neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.


7. We open our hearts to Jesus.

Revelation 3:20

King James Version

20 Behold, 

I stand at the door, 

and knock:

 if any man hear my voice, 

and open the door, 

I will come in to him, 

and will sup with him, 

and he with me.


8. We are sanctified by the blood of Jesus.

1 Corinthians 6:11

King James Version

11 And such were some of you: 

but ye are washed, 

but ye are sanctified, 

but ye are justified 

in the name of the Lord Jesus, 

and by the Spirit of our God.


9. We have been delivered by the Father, from darkness.

Colossians 1:12-13

King James Version

12 Giving thanks unto the Father

which hath made us meet 

to be partakers of the inheritance 

of the saints in light:

13 Who hath delivered us 

from the power of darkness, 

and hath translated us 

into the kingdom of his dear Son:


10. We are diligent in our calling, to serve Christ.

2 Peter 1:10-11

King James Version

10 Wherefore the rather, 

brethren, 

give diligence 

to make your calling and election sure

for if ye do these things, 

ye shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly 

into the everlasting kingdom 

of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.


11. Our vile bodies are glorified by the Lord.

Philippians 3:20-21

King James Version

20 For our conversation is in heaven; 

from whence also we look for the Saviour, 

the Lord Jesus Christ:

21 Who shall change our vile body, 

that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body

according to the working 

whereby he is able even 

to subdue all things unto himself.


12. We repent, and believe the gospel.

Mark 1:15

King James Version

15 And saying, 

The time is fulfilled, 

and the kingdom of God is at hand: 

repent ye, 

and believe the gospel.


13. We overcome sin, and temptation.

Revelation 21:7-8

King James Version

7 He that overcometh 

shall inherit all things; 

and I will be his God, 

and he shall be my son.

8 But the fearful, 

and unbelieving, 

and the abominable, 

and murderers, 

and whoremongers, 

and sorcerers, 

and idolaters, 

and all liars, 

shall have their part 

in the lake 

which burneth with fire 

and brimstone: 

which is the second death.


14. We are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 21:27

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it 

any thing that defileth, 

neither whatsoever worketh abomination, 

or maketh a lie: 

but they which are written 

in the Lamb's book of life.


15. We are poor in spirit.

Matthew 5:3

King James Version

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: 

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.


16. We are persecuted for righteousness' sake.

Matthew 5:10

King James Version

10 Blessed are they 

which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: 

for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.


17. We do the will of the Father.

Matthew 7:21

King James Version

21 Not every one that saith unto me, 

Lord, Lord,

 shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; 

but he that doeth the will of my Father 

which is in heaven.


18. We are converted, as little children.

Matthew 18:3

King James Version

3 And said, 

Verily I say unto you, 

Except ye be converted, 

and become as little children, 

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.


19. We follow Jesus.

Matthew 19:21

21 Jesus said unto him,

 If thou wilt be perfect,

and give to the poor, 

and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: 

and come and follow me.


20. We are righteous, in God's eyes.

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

shall not inherit 

the kingdom of God

Be not deceived: 

neither fornicators, 

nor idolaters, 

nor adulterers, 

nor effeminate, 

nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

nor revilers, 

nor extortioners, 

shall inherit the kingdom of God.


21. We are pure, in God's eyes.

Ephesians 5:5

5 For this ye know, 

that no whoremonger, 

nor unclean person, 

nor covetous man, 

who is an idolater, 

hath any inheritance 

in the kingdom of Christ 

and of God.


22. We are not ruled by sins of the flesh.

Galatians 5:19-21

King James Version

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, 

which are these

Adultery, 

fornication, 

uncleanness, 

lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, 

witchcraft, 

hatred, 

variance, 

emulations, 

wrath, 

strife,

and such like: 

of the which I tell you before, 

as I have also told you in time past, 

that they which do such things 

shall not inherit the kingdom of God.


23. We continue in the faith.

Acts 14:22

and exhorting them to continue in the faith, 

and that we must 

through much tribulation 

enter into the kingdom of God.


23. We embrace the kingdom of God.

Luke 16:16

King James Version

16 The law and the prophets were until John: 

since that time the kingdom of God is preached, 

and every man presseth into it.


24. We love, as Jesus taught us to.

Matthew 25:34-36

King James Version

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, 

Come, 

ye blessed of my Father, 

inherit the kingdom prepared for you 

from the foundation of the world:

35 For I was an hungred, 

and ye gave me meat

I was thirsty, 

and ye gave me drink

I was a stranger,

36 Naked, 

and ye clothed me

and ye visited me

I was in prison, 

and ye came unto me.


Are all these possible?

Of course!

JESUS said so!

Matthew 19:25-26

25 When his disciples heard it, 

they were exceedingly amazed, saying, 

Who then can be saved?

26 But Jesus beheld them, 

and said unto them, 

With men this is impossible; 

but with God 

all things are possible.


Precisely why the Holy Spirit of God was prayed for by Jesus, before He left us.

That the Spirit of God may teach us all things Jesus, all things God, all things righteous.
